today we had the florida protools rep. come into class and talk to us about 7.3.  it seems pretty nice, they are trying some things with right click, and taking some 7.2 TDM only awnd putting it into LE.  7.3 will be out around christmas time.   And for those of you that have 7.2 or lower I think its maybe $49 USD to upgrade to it!  from what i saw its worth it.

i CAN'T REPLY

I'm studying recording arts at Full Sail. Not sure if many have heard of it, but it is in Orlando, Fl.  We have several classes covering different aspects of the studio.  and this month I am in an Entertainment Business class and Advanced Audio Workstations class.  In the workstations class we are learning about protools an in our labs we have Protools HD 2 system and a Control 24.  Its a nice little setup if you ask me, of course you have to be able to afford that sort of thing.  I don't know to much about the LE 7.3, I know that the HD system is going to have alot more MIDI functionality,  using Sibelius to write your music and being able to transform your midi from protools to actual sheet music.   Pro tools has also include key changes in the midi,  which sibelius will be able to detect.  If you ask me,  that is nice if you like to write music for other instruments that read sheet music.  sorry if i sound like i want to sell you protools,  I just think they are doing alot to please the industry.

Advanced Audio Workstations was my FAVORITE! class. Enjoy it learn everything you can. And don't make the biggest mistake I did at that school. You should make a cd or dvd of everything you do for you 'portfolio' even if its the sound bed you put behind the animation in your early fruity loops class!

I graduated from Full Sail about 4 years ago. We used frooty loops in a general ed class we had. I currently don't work anywhere music related. Full Sail said they had a great job placement, but that is only if you're moving to L.A., New York, Nashville, or staying in the Orlando area. Anywhere else and they are no help.
