The way apple are evolving at the moment, they are putting out significantly chaged hardware and sofware in each product range it seams once a year, the new ipods unvaled last week, the mac book and mac book pro, the powermac, the switch to intel, so how long is it going to be till we see logic 8? What changes can we expect to see, what would we like to see, is it going to sway the way logic 7 did and be the next step up from garage band or are they going to push it back towards to top end users.

Can we expect to see more convolution technology from apple such as a competitor for the liquid mix, with vintage compressors and preamp models, an ampfarm style convolution software guitar proccessor?

Who Knows???

I am currently in the process of switching from windows to Ma (the main reason for this is, of course Logic). I love the features and customization that Logic 7.2 offers, but there are a few things that I would like to see in Logic 8. Now that Logic is owned by Apple and Mac's run on Intel processors, I would like to see Logic 8 optimized for the quad boxes (the desktops that have 2 dual cores). Right now, I think that it will run on two cores on one chip, but is not optimized for all four cores. This really isn't that big of a deal though, because Logic does not require that much processing power even if you are using multiple instances of plugins like colossus or atmoshpere.

Interesting...I like the new version of logic it shapes up really well. I personally believe that logic won't evolve into a native based system, not in the near future anyway. The way apple is expanding I do and don't like. I think I'm one of those selfish mac users that actually doesn't want apple to expand and just keep this wondeful apple mac thing a secret! I'm seriously liking the look of the new mac book pro, my g4 PB is starting to look worn out.

MMM the new pac book pro dose look very nice, i'm looking at treating myself after christmas and the i want one mummy christmas stage has gone. I agree that the mac/logic combo is a nice little secret, if a windows user ever askes what you run and you reply, all you have to say is 2 words, MAC and LOGIC and they look very gone out at you because they just dont understand.
