I had a quick look around on Craigslist and couldn't find a one of these. Then I looked on eBay and couldn't find any either. Not knowing anything about them - are they rare? How old is the KR-650?

Cheers, Dave.

We bought our KR650 in 1993 and have been using it on stage ever since.  It was designed for home use, but I had a custom road case made for it.  The sound engines are superior to what Roland offers today, in our opinion.  We bought a Roland RD700 and compared them side by side.  The KR650 was clearer and had more presence, especially the drums.  The main shortcoming of the unit is the small keys.  We want another as a back up.  I never got into hexadecimal programming much, and don't have much time to devote to starting over with a new sequencing technique.  I coupled the KR650 with an MC50 MkII sequencer and feel very comfortable with those "outdated" tools.  We already have a backup MC50 MkII.

By the way...thanks for checking.  I've looked over those lists also, but haven't found any.  I did find an owner's manual.

What do you consider the right price?  I have one that I use for a basic Piano sound.  I also have a Phantom and xp-30 but the Piano sound on the KR has a better sustain, more real sound.

What would you consider as the right price. I have a KR650 and xp30 and a Phantom. I still like the Piano sounds of th KR.

I'm not familiar with the other units you mentioned, but I am very interested in the KR650.  What condition is it in?  Where are you located?  I'd like to see some photos.
