Let's say you've played in midi up to bar 20. Your last note was at bar 20 and it had sustain on it (controller 64 at 127) which lasts until bar 21, where you lift your foot (controller 64 at 0). So far, so good. Now, you want to punch-in and start playing a new piece a little before bar 21. So you punch-in there, but the new notes have all this sustain on them because the punch was before the sustain off command. Other than (1) editing the sustain off to start earlier or (2) playing a sustain off command at the punch before your new notes (very cumbersome with a tight punch!), what do you do to prevent the unwanted sustain?
