Multiple MIDI connections

Hi, Im pritty new to MIDI so this may be a stupid question but Im still learning about MIDI and have not found an answer to this question.

Recently a bout a "korg Kaoss Pad" which has both MIDI I/O and MIDI over USB. Im using the pad both as an effect processor and as a controller for Virtual DJ but the lack of buttons and the layout makes this kind of anoying thus im looking for a MIDI mixer.

Basicly my question is, if I connect a MIDI mixer to my Kass Pad, will the signal from the mixer pass through the pad and become MIDI over usb or will the KP3 stop the signal?

Advice on portable MIDI players

Hi, I have been mannually programming MIDI songs (using the mouse) through Digital Orchestrator Plus. I don't play any instrument, but I would like to start performming some of my songs. I'd like some advice on a portable player that I can load MIDI tracks into and connect to a sound system, or speakers.

well, someone of you know how does a hub midi work? well, i know how it works but i would like to know if it's only a sort of mixer of midi instrument or it has more functions...

What gear do you have?

I'm curious to know what kind of gear you have in your home or professional studio? I have a home studio with:

1 x Dell 3GHz machine with 3GB RAM, Roland Fantom XR, Yamaha Motif ES Rack, Kurzweil PC-2R, MOTU MIDI Timepiece AV, Mackie Onyx 400F, Alesis Masterlink CD recorder, Mackie Control Universal, Korg Triton Extreme, Roland Sound Canvas 8820, Rokit 6 monitors (2 + Rokit 10 sub), 2 x 20" Dell 2001FP LCDs and a Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse setup.

I also run Cubase SX3.

I'm about to replace the monitors with the new JBL LSR4300 series - they're fantastic sounding speakers.

How about you guys - what do you have in your home or professional studios?

Slaving a Beat/Groove Box

A friend gave me a Yamaha DJX IIb beat/groove box thingy. I love the sounds and would love to just be able to trigger the Yamaha sound engine only and not the groove box pattern sequencer. It seems when I try to use my computer to trigger the thing it automatically starts its own sequencer when certain keys are played..... I'm not new to MIDI but just never took the time to know the nuances of channels and all that.
