Is it possible to pitch a MIDI file? please help

Hey. I really want to be able to pitch down a whole MIDI file so that it is in E and not F. Is that possible ? And if it is, how do I do that ? Do i need some special kind of program or something ? Please help :)

Does anyone know what happened to Trycho.com. They had some hard to find oldies midi files. The site is down, email gets returned, phone does not answer. If they are out of business has anyone taken over their catalog?

How can you tell where a midi file has originated from or if it is copyrighted?

How can you tell where a midi file/track has originated from or if it is copyrighted? I usually work with Cubase if that helps.

It's probably a simple thing i just don't know how to do it. please help!!!

GM reset command and GM multi question

I am new to sequencing. I do a one man sequenced show that is 70% my stuff and 30% stuff I downloaded and tweaked. I downloaded a song that has some type of command to extend the pitch bend range big time. When I play this song live it makes all the other sequences that follow use the same values for the pitch bend. I have to shut off my sound module and start it again. What command can I use to eliminate this hassle and also, where would I find a good free or for purchase resource to learn all about commands such as this. There is another song I downloaded and it makes all the patches have a deep reverb. I seem to remember a song I had a while back that had a bunch of "reset" commands at the begining of the sequence. (Of course like an idiot, I erased them). HELP!!!

I also want to find a way to send a command to make my Korg X5DR unit go to it's GM (multi) state when I press the space bar to start my first song of the night. The default on the module is the Program state and there has been more than one night where I was late getting to the gig or otherwise preoccupied and forgot to set it properly and had the wrong sounds and was embarrased.

Learning Keyboards MIDI Format Details

Hi,
I've recently purchased a Yamaha YPG-525, which has a 'learn' mode for right and left hand parts. I can load MIDI files into the piano via USB and have been able to play the files readily, but not all of the files seem to have the correct format for 'teaching' the main lines of the song. Some do, some do not. Also, the piano itself is capable of displaying Lyrics as well.

I want to hand-edit the midi files I am most interested in to be able to learn the songs, and want to know how to get the right/left hand sequences (and the lyriics if possible) to show correctly on the device.

The manual, of course, is almost completely useless, referring only to the Yamaha website where I can download songs they'd like to sell me at $3.95 apiece.

Triggering .wav files with MIDI controller

To whom it may concern:

I have an M-Audio Axiom 25 MIDI controller. This has eight pads on it like an MPC. I see and hear producers sample record (.wav files) on their MPC or synth w/pads. My question is can I trigger .wav files from the Axiom 25 and utilize the pads? Or are those pads just for MIDI drum instruments? Because I would love to sample and chop oldies but goodies with ease, if I can do so, without buying an MPC, editing it by hand in ProTools, or sampling through the Triton. Midi File will not open

I purchased a Hoofjaw midi file that will not open in Sonar. It will not play in window media player either. The file is "Me and Bobby McGee". Has anybody else had this problem? If so, any solutions to get it to open?

Greetings. I recently uprgraded to digital and am learning quite a bit, including MIDI software, files, etc. I use REAPER and a Yamaha keyboard as a controller. I have several synth programs installed under VSTi, but I'm not getting anything to play.

My USB Midi Interface is connected and the track is set for channel 1. But the sound is intermittent. Switching to ALL channels has no effect either. Using the VSTi via the effects setting is not responding, so I'm not sure if something needs to be reconfigured, or reinstalled or what. Any advice would be helpful because I am on fire to use this stuff! Thanks in advance.

Anybody know how to replace the "instruments" in a midi file? Meaning, replacing the midi sounds with a .wav and still staying in key. Like maybe taking a midi led zeppelin song and replacing the sounds with something from a video game like space invaders.

Replacing Midi Files

I'm on a constant search to get better quality "plug & play" tracks because my editing ability is not so great. I've been on your site for several hours listening to the demos etc. I've chosen 31 songs to purchase, some new and some that I already have bought from others companies. Problem is I've bought some songs 2-3-4 times from various individuals/companies only to find out that everyone is merging now and selling eachothers tracks. I've bought the same track from the new company that I've already bought from some other company. Dang is this frustrating & expensive..!!! So to be fair to me the consumer, how can I tell whos (company) actually tracked the songs in your library????? :ermm:

Midi track dividing!!??

I have an RM1X & when I put a midi file in it I cannot assign any part of the midi file to a track? Ie put the bass line to track 9 & the synth lead note to track 10, & drumbeats to tracks 1,2,3 etc. Is this a problem with the midi file, my sequencer, me or what?

I wonder where I can find midifiles that is specially made for T2. I have a few already and its so great playing along when all the instruments are programmed correctly with T2. Especially i love when the vocal gets harmonized on the right place in the songs.

This is the kind of Midfiles im looking for, but where can i find them? what sites?
and it wouldnt mind at all if they are free . Plz post your favorite sites in this thread
